Fáilte romhat chuig singwithme.ie

Singwithme.ie has been developed in partnership with www.anmuinteoir.ie, an Irish owned company set up in 2013 to help make the teaching of Irish more fun in the classroom. We have carefully compiled a selection of songs that we believe will be very suitable for all children especially children in schools.

These songs will help develop children’s confidence in music, and in singing aloud. They will also have the benefit of improving both English and Irish languages.

The songs are in four categories with ten songs in each one:

Fun Songs

This section is full of fun with loads of room for the child’s imagination.

Love & Nature

The focus in this section is on the importance of love in all our lives and of nurturing a love and appreciation of the beauty of the natural world all around us.

Storytime

These songs all tell a story of bygone days. They recall the lives of the generations before us including the themes of emigration, hardship and romance with a bit of humour and imagination thrown in.

Reflective

The importance of love, friendship, caring, justice and at times “saying nothing” is reflected in the first songs. We end with a selection of hymns.

Amhráin Spraoi

These songs are an Irish version of our Fun Songs. They are also a  great way of learning Irish.

Launch

In launching singwithme, Joe Mc Hugh , the Minister for Education, referred to  the site as therapeutic, refreshing, uplifting, fun and  great for getting away from the stress in all walks of life... the singing in Irish - English say’s it all.

The cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council, Seamus Ó Domhnaill referred to the “harnessing of the fun and interactive element of learning.”

Experience

The singwithme team has drawn on the experience of many teachers currently involved with music in the classroom.
